Awesome info as usual, that distributors list was pretty comprehensive. I hope I find the #'s. Thought there were only 3 distributors...

Being a 59D it would be for A+ engines. However, the 59D was used in both 998 and 1275 engines. There should be a five digit number beginning with "4" stamped into the side of the housing. Look that number up in Marcel's dizzy database (link below) to see if the curve is right for the engine you are building.

Are you asking which model distributor is shown in the picture where the red/black wires are passing through the distributor without a grommet?
I would not use the Pertronix with the crimp butt splices inside the distributor. I would carefully remove the butt splices, solder the wires together using the minimal amount of solder, and put very short lengths of heat shrink over the solder joints. Those wires have to flex inside the distributor when the breaker plate moves during vacuum advance. You don't want the wires to bind up the movement and you don't want to force the wires to flex repeatedly in one spot like where they enter the crimp butt splices.

So there is an Aldon distributor w points on an 850/998 we are working on now - does std Lucas stuff fit in it?? Thanks again everyone

I do not recognize the numbers you list. I assume they may be mold marks, not a model number. If you can identify what type of distributor the kit is in, it can be moved to any similar Lucas distributor. For example, if it was in a 25D4 distributor, it will fit any 25D4.
The wire color codes for positive and negative ground kits are different. If your module has red and black wires, it is for negative earth.

Spent at least an hour looking which I do before asking possibly very dumb questions - anyone know what a 32Y-V4 is for? negative or positive ground etc? Thanks
I know I have several odd distributors with Pertronix in em - & one was off of a 998 - doesn't mean it's correct tho...
