harvey and I will soon be going after a braking problem. His Mk 4 with 8.4 std replacement disc and black stuff pads shakes when applying heavy brakes at 60 mph. Suggesting he stop doing that got no where. We have checked run out and changed pads. We have ordered up graded drive flanges and the better disc not drilled or grooved. His caliper were rebuilt with SS pistons when we replaced the disc and pads no more than a couple of years ago. Car has had very limited use since.
I'm more into replacing the lower arm inner bushes as well as strut rod bushes. We will renew that thread when we go back to work on the car. Steve (CTR)

Getting some vibration when applying the brakes in the Mini. 8.4 cross drilled and grooved disks and green stuff pads. Has anyone ever turned these disks to true them? Or any recommendations as to another cause? Disks and pads are about 4 years old, btw, no noticeable braking improvement from the solid factory disks and standard Mintex pads. But they look the part!
