Sir Casey, pls pardon Alex, most of the time he's nice but once in a while he gets excited, he likes posting Anime'.  He has two minis identically painted with Union Jack design occupying the entire mini from roof down to quarter panels.  Very revealing.

OK Malsal, Sounds like the plan. I did have it set one time before (OK, a couple of times as I've owned the car since '75) and had the lost prime problem. I went in from below the carbs that time as I remember but stuff is a bit fuzzy from back then and using the tube that goes to the cooler and oil filter shouldn't be all that difficult.

Prime the pump before starting as it has been sitting so long it has probably lost its prime. By doing this you will make sure all the important parts have oil to them before you start it.
To prime it you need to remove the oil feed line to the block from the oil filter housing. Remove the spark plugs and fill the hole in the block with a good 20W-50 oil and when it reaches its full level push the car backwards in gear. This will suck the oil down into the pump. Then repeat this process until you cannot get any more oil in. Replace the plugs, re install the oil line, clean out the fuel lines or get a fresh gas source, clean up the points and it should start. A fresh oil change will be in order too.

Thanks for the sound advice. I have a straw full of ATF resting in each cylinder right now. You're the first to recommend the valve train and it sounds like good advice so it'll be done. I expect to turn it over enough to see some oil pressure before I throw the plugs in and get excited.

Sir Casey, just a piece of advice,, since your mini have been garaged for many years without running, you should pop off the valve cover and pour few amount of 20/50 motor oil on the valves and rocker before you even start the car. and also remove the spark plugs and squirt little amount of thin oil inside . and crank it with out the plugs for 5 seconds to spread the oil around the piston, then put the plugs back and start the engine..
And also, leave the red trailer and the figurine behind when you test drive the mini so there would be no extra weight to the car when breaking in.  good luck!
