45 min drive one way in my mini to a nearby town to visit an amateur restorer.
He had about 8 ugly 1950s American cars, including flathead V-8s.
Those engines alone weighed more than my mini. The bumpers belonged on dumptrucks.
He had zero curiosity about my mini. I am not sure it registered to him that it was a car.

Just got back from Mini-ing around Nepean.
Colder than Florida! Nice to have a Mini heater that works (and doesn't leak!). Once warmed up, she ran very well... even generating a little unintended wheel-spin once or twice. I suspect the cold air being inducted helped in the power production. No hills or twisties unfortunately... just suburban and collector roads.

The sad part is that SNOW is forecast for this weekend, so it may be the last Mini drive for this year. Minis are fun in winter...except for the road salt and brine they put on the roads.

Just got back from Moken around Florida, camping in North Florida with 4 other Mokes and one Mini, 4 days around 875 miles fun times.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Yes, actually drove it all week as a daily driver, to work, meetings, lunch, and back home, over 350 miles.  95,000 miles over 17 years.  Last nite the temp gauge did not work, will try to get that fixed this weekend.  After 18 years of Mini ownership, I am still amazed that some people think that they can have a conversation with you going 75 in the expressway from the adjacent lane.  Also the ones that expect you to roll down the passenger window to talk to them at a light.  I reckon they do not realize that I do not have power windows.

Did meet some pretty cool people that came to the office yesterday and were familiar with Minis.  Always a pleasure to drive it.  Need two tires.

Mini is running nice now.  Fixed the choke cable, replaced the starter solenoid, added front spoiler with a Cooper sign where the license would be, added "Halo" headlines with LED bulbs and wired a lite in the speedo that comes on when I have the Halo lites on so I don't forget to turn them off.

Throwing my clubs in this afternoon and off to play some golf before the rain starts in Oregon.

Yes, I drove my mini today as I do every day. Am I the only one here who has put 176000 miles on his mini in the last 18 years?  It could use a paint job, a new screen would be nice a well. First gear synchro is about done on this gearbox. My ultra wide ratio tranny with 2.56 overall final drive is nice pulling 70 mph at 3000 rpm. On the other hand, dropping back to first has taken a toll. Currently giving thought to a 998 instead of the 1360 Cooper S. A S ratio tranny with a 3.1, .060 bore 295 head and twin 1 1/4 SUs should be fun while I go through the S unit. Steve (CTR)

Just watching your map route animation was a good ride imagining all those hills and twisties.
Thanks!  I took a little heat for the dance-trance soundtrack. That was a concession to my non-car buddies. The car guys wanted more exhaust, less music.

Those three 5 mph hairpins are tight! The inside rear tire lifts 3” off the ground!

YESSSS!

As HRH Queen Elizabeth once said it has been an "Annus horribilis" around here when it came to Mini driving - either the Mini was craving attention or the weather was to hot (health limitations)/too wet/too whatever to get any enjoyable time outside. BUT today was a fine fall day. I wasn't working and the Mini was ready to go, if a little dusty from sitting. No tour like Rosebud's but the Mini really behaved herself. Even my dear wife agreed to go to lunch in the Mini.

I'll sleep well tonight.
