I received the Morris Mini 1:24 plastic model.   it is nicely detailed and should be an excellent tool in visualizing this project.

I'll post pics once I get the laptop ready (using a Smartphone now).

Yes indeed!!  Altering an original.unmolested classic would be almost a primal sin.   But likely the Mini affordable by me will be a diamond in the rough that has already been trifled with.   But even then, changes might need to be considered carefully since every car is the last of a dying breed.

Keep in mind that a Mk I Cooper S is in that time of life that being original keeps a high price. It will be your car. Do what you wish, but keep it in mind. (The same for the toy.)

I did an Internet search and bought a 1:24 scale plastic assembly model a Mini.Cooper.  About 5" long, cost $20.  Not in current production, it was kitted by Revell, Tamyia and Italieri

It will.serve well as an "analog 3D rotatable model" for visualiation purposes.   And any Mini maniac needs a Mini-Me model of his car...

I have s page with the standard Union Jack dimensions.  Now I need to decide how accurate I need to be how.much artistic liberty I can take. The line drawing or a simple block model of a Mini will help the concepts before i get to pulling tape on a real car.

Let me see if I can do a pic from my Smartphone....
(Nope)

The flag works beautifully as either a standalone on the roof - make sure you get the dimensions correct though, the Union Flag has just as many rules as the American flag - or as a complete car like mine.

If you notice, the flag on mine is offset towards the front to make sure the whole thing is correct when viewed from above, if you extend the roof painted one down the pillars it is wrong from above.

Make sure you get the right colours and thickness of stripes, and remember that the white sections are not symmetrical.

Flag.... what flag?

That is along the lines of  what I wss thinking.    My mind's eye aligns the flag's diagonal stripes with the windshield and rear window pillars and the flag's vertical cross stripes with the door pillars and running front & rear over the hood and trunk.

In the mid-70's in college a friend of mine painted a Union Jack on his old VW Beetle.   I've always had a warm spot for that design.

Those line drawings are exactly what I was looking for.  Thanks.

Alex, would you please show the guy a photo of a Mini with the Union Jack on it? I saw the photo you added, but didn't see any Mini in it!

I'm toying with the idea of getting a Classic Mini, something along the lines of a "1960's Morris Mini Cooper S".
I'm looking for a printable line drawing, Top, Side, Front and Rear views.  I've not found any on the 'Net.  Does anyone know of a source for this drawing?

I am thinking of painting a  Union Jack flag centered on the roof and continuing  down to the hood, trunk, sides and fenders.  I think this will look good, and a line dwg will help visualize it.

HOWever, I've not seen a photo of this paint scheme, and I have no idea how it will look 'in the flesh'.  So it might look dreadful or be terribly trite.   Do we know of any photos of a Mini painted like this?
Feedback, please.
