Care should be taken not to intermix gears in the various Sprite and Midget gearbox. Many look the same but are NOT! This reverse gear mates with the gearbox that has the 22G1100 laygear. This box is most common on later model Sprites and Midgets. A worn gear is most notable because of the resulting noise but the worst part about it is the fact that if the reverse gear is worn it will destroy the first gear on the layshaft which in turn will destroy the actual first gear. Replace it and be safe!
