Question:
I'm considering building a "vanilla" MKI Mini from the ground up around a Heritage Shell and a D Series Honda engine, using new parts when available. Besides the shell and engine, what parts would I need and how much would it cost? I tried doing this myself, but I not familiar enough with the numerous nuances and plethora of permutations in the world of the classic Mini.
Andrew.
Answer:
Well, if you're considering building a Mini entirely from scratch - it's possible.. but the MKI parts are a lot harder to come by than the later models. Sounds like you'd need just about everything. The cost would be far above obtaining a donor car and doing the vtec swap on that.
