The highest quality carpet kits are manufactured by Newton Commercial of England. These kits include all the pieces (the hardest part of fitting the kit is figuring out where all the pieces go!) and fit perfectly. Originally, all BMC carpets were made from a carpet material known as "Carvel" which was a short pile carpet with heavy woven backing. This was superceded in the mid 1960's by what was then a "modern" carpet where the pile was flocked to a rubber composit backing and made by Dunlop. These materials are no longer available, so many years ago we had manufactured a carpet material which looks very much like the original Carvel style. Recently we decided to make our carpets more attractive by actually moulding the gearbox and handbrake tunnel carpets so that they fit these tunnel areas properly. To supplement these tunnel carpets, we supply extra sound deadening felt. The floor carpets are bound as can be seen here.

The kit contains 4 footwell carpets, sill carpets, tunnel pieces, front wheel arch carpets and a piece to fit under the rear seat valance. Seat clips and floor studs are also included with a set of pictorial fitting instructions. This set will fit all 2 and 4 door Saloons as well as all Travellers.
