A complete set of High Performance ARP Connecting Rod Bolts.

Fits the following models with the N12/N14 engines:

2007-2013 R56 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Hardtop
2008-2014 R55 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Clubman
2009-2015 R57 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Convertible

A Premium grade 8740 chrome moly steel is used to manufacture ARP High Performance connecting rod bolts. This material is heat-treated to provide a tensile strength in the 200,000 psi range, which is substantially stronger than the OEM botls. Cycle testing show ARP High Performance rod bolts to be nearly five times more reliable than stock bolts.

Tech Notes:
Unquestionably the most important fasteners in any engine are the connecting rod bolts, as they hold the key to the entire rotating assembly. A broken bolt will leat to catastrophic engine failure. As you can imagine, the most critical joint is where the connecting rod halves mate.

The rod molts must support the primary tension loads caused by each rotation (or cycle) of the crankshaft. When the crank rotates, the big end of the connecting rod essentially becomes oval shaped and the rod bolts bend. As the crankshaft continues to rotate, the rod becomes round again. With alternating tension loads and cyclic bending of the bolts, it is very important to install fasteners that are able to exert a clamping force greater than the load imposed upon the joint (tension).

TECH TIP:
The rod bolts on OEM connecting rods are installed into blind holes and the stretch method cannot be used. Instead, torque bolts to 19 ft-lbs using ARP Ultratorque Fastener Assembly Lubricant.

A log should be kept on the original non-torqued length of each bolt. Bolts that have any permanent deformation or have increased in non-torqued length by more than .001 in. should be replaced.

Question:
JUST AN FYI - these bolts do not work with fac rod as the bolts go into blind holes .....thus just torque to 19- 20 lb ft
Answer:
Thank you for the information!
