This shift knob comes with the boot, white retaining ring and the chrome base trim.

This is the factory original replacement shift knob and boot for the 2nd generation GP, but it can also be a great upgrade for other gen2 models with the 6-speed manual transmission.

The 2007 - 2010 Cooper (non-S) models came with 'plastic' shift knob - the lower half of the knob was plastic - unless the leather interior option was selected. The later Cooper models and all Cooper S models used leather versions. Leather Shift Knob was also an option on early Cooper models - usually came with the leather steering wheel.

The Silver and Chrome trim option refers to the 'ring' at the bottom of the boot - Silver is stock and Chrome was offered with the Chrome Line Interior factory option.
