This MINI Cooper S Intercooler Upgrade includes the first ever ground breaking innovative L Shape intercooler core design from Forge Motorsports and some of the plumbing 'pipe' upgrades from NM Engineering for maximum flow through the intercooler. Improving the flow of the intake charge from the Turbocharger to the Intake Manifold results in more air into the combustion chamber which results in more power!

Improving flow through the engine is a fundamental concept when seeking more power from the engine. This kit addresses the area between the Turbo and the engine. This kit should be used in conjuction with an Intake upgrade and an Exhaust upgrade.

INTERCOOLER UPGRADE

Many other companies simply copied this design, but Forge still remain the clear market leader due the exhaustive core testing undertaken in the development stages, we were not content with any air core. The Forge Motorsport development team tested 4 different constructions of air core before choosing the final stuffed fin stepped design intercooler for the 2007 onwards models (R56/R57) BMW Mini Cooper S Turbo.

As a reduction in intake air temperature increases the density of the charge mixture within the combustion cylinder, any temperature reductions will equate to more power. This intercooler is constructed using a combined 80/40mm high thermal efficiency core, with a 250% larger surface area and a 125% thicker base core, to achieve the best possible results.

In fact, even in relatively low road speeds/air velocities, our intercooler was able to better the OEM unit by 9°C, with greater improvements being achievable during greater speeds during track testing. The replacement intercooler is supplied with all the mountings to allow ease of installation.

TURBO OUTLET & CHARGE PIPE UPGRADES

The Premium Hi-Flow Turbo Outlet Pipe 3-piece kit eliminates the intake muffler and replaces the factory rubber hose between the turbocharger and intercooler (hot-side) with a new CNC mandrel bent pipe and silicone couplers (upper and lower) that will not expand under boost.

The Hi-Flow Charge Pipe Upgrade replaces the factory necked-down hose between the intercooler and throttle body (cold-side) just before the intake manifold. The Hi-Flow Charge Pipe Upgrade includes a new CNC mandrel bent pipe and silicone couplers that will not expand under boost. The system eliminates OEM sound chamber which, in result, helps to increase turbo response as well as mid-range and top-end power.

THE PERFORMANCE INTERCOOLER UPGRADE CAN ONLY BE USED IN A COMPETITION RACING VEHICLE THAT IS NOT DRIVEN ON PUBLIC ROADS, UNDER CALIFORNIA STATE LAW IT IS NOT LEGAL FOR STREET USE.
