Premium 22mm Solid Rear Sway Bar is guaranteed to make your MINI more go-kart-like. With additional rear roll stiffness and 3-position adjustability, installation of the bar produces significantly more neutral handling characteristics.

Included are new mil-spec 6061 CNC machined, hard anodized bushing brackets for added durability. The billet brackets also feature grease fittings which allows users to grease the bushings with ease. Low resistance, graphite impregnated urethane bushings, as well as machined ends, and textured powdered coated finish round out the package.

Note: Bushing brackets are now black.

Question:
Hi do you know if this will fit a 2012 MINI Cooper SD r58?
Answer:
We are unable to test the rear sway bar on the SD since we do not have the SD models here in the US. However the part number of the rear sway bar on the SD is the same as the one on the R56 Cooper S, so I am comfortable saying that our G2NMS2100 Rear Sway Bar will fit the R58 SD.

In a front-wheel drive car, all of the steering and power comes from the front wheels. The usual result is that the typical front-wheel car has a tendency to understeer. If the car is going to fast, or turned too abruptly when entering a corner, the car will push ahead in a straight line, rather than turning to follow the direction of the front wheels.  Understeer is what occurs when a car steers less than (under) the amount commanded by the driver. Understeer is a good thing for the average driver turning the average corner, since the car is less likely to swerve or skid, should the driver turn the steering wheel too far or too fast. In fact, even most modern rear-wheel cars are engineered to have a little understeer.

Once again we’re back to trade-offs. For the average driver, with average passengers, the ability of the car to absorb bumps without rattling the dentures of gran’pa in the back seat is at least as important as how fast the car will get around corners.
