Question:
I have a 72 midget, will I have any hood clearance issues and does it include the crank pulley for the new timing belt?
Answer:

I wouldn't expect to run into any clearance issues, they fit fine under the stock Mini hood. It's not much taller than the standard valve cover.

the kit includes what they call the "cam belt kit" which is the front cover, crank pulley, tensioner, ect.

Question:
I have a 62 mini with a 1100cc engine. What else would i need besides the KAD 200 in order to achieve the aprox 200hp showing with this kit or this it. Will it fit under my bonnet or do i need modify it.
Answer:
Hello.  Unfortunately, this kit will NOT fit your 1100cc engine.  It requires at least a 1275cc version.

FOLLOW UP QUESTION:  I understand, so if I get a 1275cc engine, then the KAD 16v Cylinder Head Kit - Race 200 will work. For my previous question. Do I need anything else to achieve the advertise 190-200hp? Or anything else needed for this cylinder head kit to work or is it just a switch with the old part.  Is it going to fit under the bonnet or do I need modifications. Will the transmission hold the HP or do I need to upgrade the transmission. I already upgraded to 8.4 brakes, so stopping shouldn’t be an issue.  Thanks.

FOLLOW UP ANSWER: Please note this from our website: KAD Race 200 1480cc engines produces between 190-200hp @ 8750rpm and over 125lb/of torque!
Thus the HP comes from a KAD mounted on a 1275cc that has been both bored and stroked into a 1480cc beast.  Kit does not include fuel system.

KAD recommend using the Weber Alpha Engine Management system which is a tried and tested, well engineered product. As it provides all of the specialist parts required it is very good value for money (which some other systems do not).

The gearbox and transmission required will depend largely on the use to which the engine is being put and to the torque output of the engine. It is the torque and not the horse power of an engine which is responsible for destroying transmissions so the approach for the Twin Cam should be the same as that for a race engine.

The standard helical 4 speed can be used but is really only suitable for stage one conversions up to 120bhp. Even at this level the standard diff is an immediate weak link and should be the priority for change since the standard cross pins are very weak. The twin cross pin types on the market are a good fix on a budget as limited slip types require drive shaft and inner CV changes to remain reliable.

FOLLOW UP QUESTION 2:   Thank you for the information. This is exactly what I needed to know. When looking at your website under part number KAD200 it didn’t mentioned this. Are there any modifications to the hood or body? Reason I am asking is that I was looking also at the K series kit and I didn’t see that the body needed to be extended 90mm in the product description and I am trying to keep the car looking stock on the outside as much as I can. Thanks.
