The retracting mechanism easily bolts behind the front seats and when the buckle is pulled down from above your shoulder it easily snaps into the socket mounted between the seats. Looks great, works even better! Not suitable for MKI I-II saloons and vans/pickups due to large door pockets.
The manufacturer states that these belts are direct replacements for the pretensioner types fitted in Europe. It will arrest the wearer within the same tolerances without a need for a pretensioner.
