Conversion brackets needed to use any of the Vtec subframes in a MK1 or MK2 Mini.
Question:
I am interested in your Mini Tec rear subframe as well as the Mini Tec vtec conversion kits. My car is a 1968 Innocenti mini, and currently has a hydrolastic stock suspension. Do you have any info on the compatibility on hydro cars? Are there extra parts or steps required in order to get these mini tec items mounted up?
Answer:
Assuming you will convert both front and rear subframes to Vtec type- there is no issue at all. As for anything else- if your current front subframe is held in place to the bulkhead cross member with 2 bolts you will have to weld a small plate on the top of the bulkhead to upgrade to the later model single bolt type.
