COOPER S JCW - MULTI-GROUND PLATINUM:
A great replacement for the stock plugs in your MINI Cooper S with the JCW Engine Upgrade Package. These plugs are slightly 'cooler' than stock to accommodate the higher boost with the JCW.

Multi-ground electrodes improve ignition capabilities and are less sensitive to increased voltage requirements due to gap growth. Designed to specific manufacturer ignition requirements in either supplementary gap, intermittent discharge, or semi-surface discharge, all for various firing tip self cleaning abilities. Platinum center electrode for extended life. Multi-ground plugs maintain all features of NGK's traditional plugs including corrugated ribs, pure alumina silicate ceramic insulator for greater strength and better heat transfer, copper core and triple interior seal. Pre-gapped to 0.032".

Some combustion chamber designs require that the spark plugs have the ground electrode placed to the side of the center electrode rather than below as on a traditional plug. This firing tip design tends to erode the tip of the ground electrode faster than a traditional plug, erosion at these points creates a larger gap between the center and ground electrodes causing plug misfire. Thus by having more ground electrodes you extend plug life. It is important to note that multi-ground does not mean multi-spark, there will still only be one spark at a time.

Subject to manufacturers warranty.

NOTE: MINI specifies spark plugs should be torqued 'unlubricated' to 27 Nm.

Question:
What spark plugs should I use I have a 2006 New MINI Cooper S JCW? I have a cold air intake/ msd coil and wires catback exhaust I'm currently running the factory spec plugs for 2006 jcw. I have heard that I would need to run a colder plug.
Answer:
The factory spec JCW spark plugs are one step cooler than the Cooper S spark plugs. You should be fine.
