BMW/MINI modified their Strut Mount on the Gen1 Models R50 R52 R53 After March 2002 to 20086. This strut fits all models made BEFORE THE CHANGE.

MINI Factory OEM replacement upper mounting plate for the front Macpherson strut assembly for MINIs built before March of 2002. The rubber bushing will crack over time and can lead to support failure. This is also an area that can get damaged from hitting a large pothole. You can identify this by seeing if the topside strut mounting area has deformed or 'mushroomed'.
