This aluminum 1275 backplate is dimensionally identical to the original steel, these are 6mm thick and weigh 3.75 lbs! As even good used examples of the original become scarce, this aluminum reproduction looks better and better! If you are fortunate enough to have an original and don't mind the weight penality, be sure to check for cracks. This is very common and can also results in oil leaks!
