The stock original cylinder head does not use any sort of special seat for the valves. The valve seats are simply cut into the soft cast iron head. Once the seat areas have worn, as they are sure to, then it only makes sense to install a good steel seat in it's place. Most any good automotive machine shop can do this job but often they can not find seats small enough for the BMC engines. These seats will work with any valves that are approximately 1.31" diameter (most commonly the intake valve in 1275cc engines.
