When you encounter intermittent or malfunctioning electrics in your car, you should always check the fuses first. BUT don't leave the issue if you find the fuse is still OK. The more common problem is actually corrosion! This occurs not only at the points where the fuses connect but also at the wire connections. When in doubt - replace it! It's hard to imagine these days that there were only 2 fuses in the early Sprites (Bugeyes) and the Morris Minors, and one was for the horn only! This one has screw terminals for the early cars up to Sept/Oct 1963. From late 1963 onward, the fuse box was a spade terminal type.
