Austin Mini Transmission Synchro Baulk Ring
$85.95
Classic Mini Competition Steel Transmission Sychro Baulk Ring
Made for reliability-Our 5 speed gearbox now use these specials which are CNC grooved and machined for concentricity using original type fixings for correct heat treatment which are similar to pre 2000 Genuine Rover in performance and reliability.
This type of the baulk (synchro) ring has been the same since 1962 but changed from steel to sintered. These rings slow down the gears to insure that they mesh without crashing. They have a friction surface on them that is the first thing to engage the next gear when shifting. The height the ring sits proud of the cone surface indicates the wear, but the common sense approach is to replace them. Sold individually.
These are our version of genuine rover sintered type but for a metal upgrade based on the original type used on 1960's Coopers, see C-22A1741.
