Question:
I have a'67 MG Midget and am interested in a pair of these tapered filters. Recently I ended up with one of these, 56-9335 and thought I would check the fit. I could not seem to get it on my HS2 carb. It seems that the head of the screw that holds the cap on the filter will not clear the carb, and I can't get the filter to sit evenly on the carb.
Do you have any tips on what I might be doing wrong? If these actually do fit HS2s, and it's not just me, I would like to order another one so I have a pair.
Answer:
We have one here and tried to remove the screw and could not get it out. So the only option is to grind down the head of the screw down a little and double stack the cork gaskets.
K&N use to have them attached with an internal bracket so it was flush. Not sure why they changed it, probably cost.
