Classic Mini Rod Change Gearbox Ratio Upgrade Kit | Cooper S Type

The most modern of Mini gearboxes, the 'rod change" is considered to be the best of the evolution. The only complaint ever heard is the need for a closer ratio gearset that is still useable on the street. This simple to install pair of gears upgrades the box to the original "S" ratio as used in the last of the originals.
Contains 1st motion shaft for larger 18mm mainshaft(A Plus) but with original 22G1040 pre plus laygear which uses a single step layshaft. Can be used on earlier gaerboxes when using the later type larger 18mm end A+ mainshaft. Coverts the original gear ratio to "S" ratio. Gear part numbers are DAM3167 for 1st motion shaft and 22G1040 for laygear. The 1st motion shaft gear was standard fitment on 1275GT from 79-81.
