Steel engine main cap set from MED Engineering that includes a 4-bolt center main and integral rear main seal that sits BEHIND the crank shaft flywheel flange. Designed for all 1275 inline (Midget/Sprite) engines, the caps are CNC machined from EN8 steel stock and supplied with a set of six dowels. This set comes complete with a special split oil seal and a pair of aluminum housings with screws to retain the seal.

The oil seal aims to eliminate the common leak from this area of the inline A-Series engine.

Please note, the block will need to be drilled/tapped to accept the extra center cap fixings and then line-bored.

Unique rear main seal option for all 1275cc Sprite engines. This kit is the ultimate rear seal solution that handles the rear seal in a totally new way. MED's kit uses a split seal and carrier that seals not the outer flywheel flange but the smaller diameter scroll seal area of the crank. This solution produces much less surface area for oil to escape from and because it's machined matched to the rear main cap, a much better seal. Because the rear main cap must be machined this kit is only meant for those rebuilding their engines but it is likely worth the extra machining cost. Download the .pdf for instructions.

This kit is for 1275cc engines only - it does not fit 1098cc 2" main engines.
