Short Shift Adapter NM Engineering’s short shift adapter is made utilizing CNC machined T303 stainless steel billet. The adapter features easy install that makes replacement of the entire shift lever not necessary. Installation can be done by accessing the shifter assembly box from below the car. This kit will reduce shift throw by approximately 20%.

Shifter Box Cover modification part DIY Kit for your Gen 2 MINI. This is a shifter box cover MODIFICATION PART DIY kit that needs to be added to your stock shift box cover to add clearance for the short shift adapter. (Adapter sold separately).

You will need to modify the stock shift cover from YOUR MINI to fit this modification part. The OEM plastic shift box cover is NOT included.

Shifter Box Cover

Short shift kit is one of the 'Must Haves' in improving your Mini motoring experience. Unfortunately, any short shift kit upgrades do not allow anyone to retain the assembly box cover due to the extended ball linkage sitting below the cover line. Most leave the cover out completely and some made a cut out just big enough so the linkage can move freely. Either way, the mechanicals inside the assembly box are exposed to outside elements which can cause dirt/dust buildup as well as interior air and sound pollution.

This is NM's solution to the problem. We modify OEM's ABS cover and add a powder-coated aluminum 'hump' over it to cover the cut out sealing the entire inside of the assembly box.
