Mini Factory replacement Rear 'Blanking Plate' for the Cooper non-S models without the rear fog light option. This Blanking plate covers the opening in place of the rear fog light.

NOTE: This fog light cover fits the 'standard' body from the factory. This fog light cover is NOT compatible on MINIs with the factory Hypersport Aero Kit or the JCW Body Kits.
Question:
I’m interested in doing an upgrade/retrofit on my 05/2010 MINI Cooper R57 and adding this fog light ( G2NMX5018 ) on the rear bumper. Mine came with the dummy cover. Has this been done before? Will it fit or do I need to do some mods?
Answer:
In order to retrofit the MINI factory rear fog on a MINI that does not have this option, there are several steps that are required after you obtain the fog light:
1. check to confirm the wiring is present with the connector for the rear fog light.
2. replace the center console switch module with one that has the toggle switch for the rear fog light.
3. have the software in the computer updated to enable the rear fog light.

I am looking for the electrical connector that is used to connect the wires to the rear fog/backup housing. Is there a part number for this?
