Designed specifically for your MINI PACEMAN, use your hidden trailer receiver hitch to tow, haul cargo, bikes.
Fits the following models:
2013-2016 R61 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Paceman
Also compatible with JCW and ALL4 Paceman models.
The Hidden Hitch system is a simple bracket that is hidden behind the stock bumper assembly and can only be seen if the license plate is lowered to allow access to the hitch. Once the plate is lowered you can then hook up a number of accessories including many off-the-shelf trailers, bike racks, trays, etc. The vast majority of MINI drivers will use this base Hitch plate in conjunction with an aftermarket bike rack attachment (like Thule, Yakima, etc.) while a fair amount hook up one of the flat extensions for autocross tires, etc.

These trailer receiver hitches have all been certified by Test Link Services, Inc. using SAE J684 Department of Transportation testing standards to meet a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs and a maximum tow rating of 2000 lbs. Many states require the use of a SAE J684 certified hitch for hauling and towing. These trailer receiver hitches are the only commercially available certified trailer hitch for the Mini PACEMAN with a 200 lb tongue weight and 2000 lb towing weight! Get the strongest hitch here!
These products are drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer. Product usually ships in 1-2 weeks. Delivery times may vary depending on inventory.
* 1 1/4" Class I Receiver SAE J684 Certification – No other Cooper S receiver hitch on the market have this Certification
* Mounts concealed behind rear bumper
* Powder coated black to resist rust
* 200 lb maximum tongue weight
* 2000 lb maximum towing capacity
* Installs with ordinary hand tools
The Hitch is a heavy duty Steel assembly that mounts behind the plastic part of the MINI bumper and uses factory hardware and mounting location for a seamless and integrated look that is safe and secure and offers MINI owners the flexibility to haul, tow, attach or carry stuff they otherwise would never be able to. The hitch mounts between the large bumper support beam and the chassis.
Accessing the hitch to insert the hitch lock pin requires reaching behind the plastic part of the bumper and above the exhaust tips. Confirm the exhaust tips have cooled off first. The first few times it will be a bit challenging to work 'blind' but it will get easier. Accessing the hitch pin will only be required if a accessory or drawbar is added or removed.
Once installed, the hitch can be used to attach just about any off-the-shelf trailer, bike rack or luggage trays that have a 1-1/4" size connection. The vast majority of MINI drivers will use our hitch in conjunction with an aftermarket bike rack attachment (like Thule, Yakima, etc.). A 1-1/4" hitch connection is required and the post needs to be long enough to clear the bumper.

I would be concerned about the 200 lb tongue weight limit on our hitch with two electric bikes, especially if you use an adapter that pushes the rack and bikes further away from the hitch. The weight of the bikes and the rack multiplied by the distance from the hitch may be close to the limit, depending on the weight of the bikes.

Here are a couple JCW specific notes from the installation instructions:
The rear bumper on JCW models may have some more fasteners around the exhaust tips.
JCW models starting in 2013 may have left and right structural support brackets that mount to the substructure beam and keep the exhaust tips centered in the bumper. The inner edges of both sides will need to be trimmed back to clear the hitch once installed.
Those are the only differences for installation on JCW R60 Countryman.
