EBC Redstuff Ceramic Brake Pads. As EBC’s flagship street brake pad material for prestige and faster cars, EBC Redstuff ceramic Brake pads sets new standards in brake performance. Redstuff is the EBC premium low dust pad for fast street driving.
There are two reasons our customers love Redstuff, First because they are the lowest dust pad we have encountered by reducing dust by 60-90%. Plus the minimal dust you see is very easily removed with a simple sponge wash as it contains no steel fibre particles as in all other pads. Second they brake like an alligator right from cold (as good as Original pads or better) and just get better as they heat up.
Fits the following models:
2014-2022 F56 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Hardtop
2015-2022 F55 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Hardtop 4-Door
2016-2022 F57 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Convertible
Front pads are different for Cooper vs. Cooper S. The rear pads are the same for both Cooper and Cooper S. Select accordingly.
Description:
Redstuff is a aramid fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles. We do NOT use Ceramic fibers in any of our pads. Red is copper-free for environmental legislation, also free of sulphides or lead and a low dust material, and fully ECE R 90 brake safety tested and approved.
There is always “Some:” dust from brakes as they wear but the major advantage of the EBC range is that we use zero steel fiber in our pads and instead use less aggressive aramid fibers such as Twaron® and Kevlar® which are easy to wash off wheels and do not etch into wheel lacquers or alloy
Features:
- Redstuff ceramic brake pads, passenger car/saloon car pad NOT made for Truck or SUV fitments
- EBC lowest dust fast street pad with 15% brake improvement
- Capable of repeated heavy brake use without brake “Fall-Off”
- Very minimal disc/rotor damage characteristics
- Superb material for Prestige imports/European and Asian cars
- ECE R 90 type approved for most cars
- Features red “brake in’ surface coating for instant safe braking after install
- Made with Nucap NRS hooks on backplates to totally eliminate the chance of pad debond
High friction formula improves brake effect 15%
Redstuff ceramic brake pads have always been known for its low dust ability but the latest blend has greatly reduced the phenomenon of pad “Pick up” or disc scoring and reduced dust even further. Tested at the UK Motor Industries Research Association (MIRA) in witnessed tests early Redstuff reduced car stopping distance in tests by almost 50 feet from 100 MPH offering a staggering 30% brake improvement.
These pads are coated with 'BRAKE-IN SURFACE COATING':
- Effective immediately after installation
- Conditions rotor surface
- Prevents early life noise
- Helps pads bed-in fast.
EBC Redstuff is also a long-wearing pad and as such takes approx 500Kms to fully bed down and show its full performance. To assist the bed-in, however, all EBC pads are surface coated with our Brake-in ™ pad brake in accelerator compound.
Brake Dust
Some BRAKE DUST is inevitable from every brake pad and it is impossible to totally eliminate dust otherwise brake vibration will occur. We never advertise ZERO DUST we only advertise LESS DUST and we appreciate that in some cases dust will be almost the same as original pads. However, please note that dust is always more severe in the first 1000 miles of driving especially if pads were fitted to partly worn rotors. Another condition which promotes significant dust is wrong pad compound choice. If you have a car with over 200bhp (horse power) or drive above what we might call a spirited street level, for example green pads would not be suitable and red ceramic, being a slightly harder pad, can handle these higher speeds and loads and gives off less dust … there may be cases of overload where the Green pads are carbonising in use and a higher spec pad (Red Ceramic) is needed. Yellow compounds are a fantastic brake, probably our best but they are equal in dust to Original parts and should not be chosen if a low dust pad is what you need. Our CLEANEST pads are RED CERAMIC for sedans.
NOTE:
Brakes are a safety critical part of your vehicle and should be installed by a competent mechanic following vehicle manufacturers installation procedure. The surface of these brake pads is coated with a red coating known as BRAKE-IN. This coating helps your newly installed brake pads to 'seat' or bed-in quickly. However, pads should be used gently for the first 100 miles until optimum braking is observed. Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their disc (brake rotor).
Rotors should be replaced with new when installing new brake pads. Failure to do so can result in brake noise as well as reduced braking efficiency. Avoid contamination of pad surface with any forms of grease that you may use to lubricate caliper sliders.
Manufacturers Warranty applies.
Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years. See Mini Cooper Brake Fluid Pentosin DOT4 for high quality brake fluid.
