Rear Adjustable Lower Control Arms are a 'must have' when lowering your Mini Cooper and Cooper S. When your lower your Mini, the rear camber is greatly increased. In order to avoid accelerated tire wear ($$$), you need to correct the rear camber using Adjustable Rear Control Arms. Sold in Pairs.
Includes:
- One Pair Rear Adjustable Lower Control Arms
These adjustable control arms are designed to replace the rear LOWER Control arms as a direct bolt-in upgrade. These can be made to work in the upper position with different spacers but they can also interfere/contact when used in the upper position and your MINI is lowered to the 'extreme'.
Introducing the newly redesigned NM Engineering Adjustable Control Arms. While others use 1" diameter 6061 aluminum material, NM machines our control arms utilizing aerospace grade 7075-T6 1 1/4" hex aluminum bars, finished with titanium tint Type III / Mil-Spec Anodize. The use of larger material provides rigidity and strength of steel bar but without the weight.
Fits the following models:
2014-2022 F56 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Hardtop
2015-2022 F55 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Hardtop 4-Door
2016-2022 F57 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Convertible
2016-2022 F54 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Clubman
2017-2022 F60 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Countryman
Also compatible with the F56 GP!
NM Rear Adjustable Lower Control Arms also features precision heavy duty rod ends made from heat treated hardened steel with self lubricating nylon race. The threaded rod ends allow user to dial the suspension camber to desired specs, crucial for the weekend track enthusiasts and professional racers. T-303 stainless steel is used for the spacers to avoid any flexing and crushing caused by suspension load.
Available with or without the optional Rubber Rod End Boot Kit. The Rubber Rod End Boot Kit protects the rod ends against dirt and grime that may cause performance noise.
Finish: Titanium tint Type III / Mil-Spec Anodize
NOTES:
- Kit comes with two (pair) complete lower bars with hardwares, set at factory arm length.
- Heim Joint (Pillow Ball Rod End) may generate some noise for its lack of rubber bushing while still performing normally.
See NM Adjustable Control Arms installation instructions here.
Why do you need Adjustable Rear Control Arms?
The most common reasons for adding the Adjustable Rear Control Arms is to correct the rear camber after lowering the car. Lowering the car changes the suspension geometry and induces significant amounts of negative camber. Since the stock suspension lacks the adjustment range to correct this, the Rear Adjustable Lower Control Arms are used.
Typically, most owners replace only the two lower control arms (one on each side). This allows changes to the camber but it also affects toe-in simultaneously (to a small extent). Most people accept this small toe change and carry on.
Unfortunately, the stock upper control arm is different from the lower arm and they are not interchangeable. The Adjustable Control Arm can only be fitted to the 'lower' position.
