deburr before installation
By: kerr
Pros: makes your car go
Cons: the brass ferrule may have a burr, leading to sticky throttle operation or fast cable wear.
Many posters have commented on this (probably a manufacturing issue).
Other Thoughts: before installation, de-burr the opening of the brass ferrule (pull out the cable from the housing and use the tip of a drill bit to lightly champfer the opening - just a touch because the brass is very soft!)
