While the Morris Minor actually had a great reputation for good handling, it was only based on the other cars of its era. By todays standards and highway speeds, the Minor can benefit greatly from a little less body roll. The addition of a front anti-sway bar to any Morris Minor will make a tremedous improvement in road feel and self confidence on our modern roads.
The Morris Minor was designed for a simpler day when roads were rough and tires were skinny. High speed cornering was unheard of! Today the roads are smoother, tires are grippier and the Minor's suspension is hard pressed to keep up! As a Morris enters a corner the front suspension rolls under causing the car to "plow" forward and the car to lean, As the rear leans, the tires roll to the side loosing traction. (This is not what they mean when they refer to "four wheel drift") Adding a front anti-sway bar will help control body roll, stability, and make the car feel more comfortable without sacrificing ride quality. Because the car will lean less, the tires will stay flat on the ground giving you better traction. Installation can easily be accomplished by the home mechanic.
