These are upgraded replacements for Right Side (Passenger Side in US) Upper Engine mounts located next to the Right side Front Strut Tower in the engine bay.
Right Side Upper Engine Mount - 'Competition' version. NOT recommended for street use.
Fits the Cooper S models with the following production dates:
2002 thru 11/2003 R53 MINI Cooper S Hardtop
[ ] Right side engine mount for 2002-11/2003 fits R53 Cooper S only
[ ] Right side engine mount for 12/2003+ fits Cooper and S (R50/52/53)
Engineered by High Performance Engine and Suspension Mounting System specialists, these products were developed for the harsh conditions of competitive applications. With the success in competitive environments, they developed 'street' versions using the same proven designs. These products are designed to last!
Available in 'Street' and 'Competition' versions. The Comp versions uses stiffer rubber, which is better for performance but will transmit more Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) into the cabin.
Engine mounts allow the engine to move and absorbs most of the vibration for a smooth ride. Unfortunately, these engine mounts deteriorate over time and begins to transmit vibration into the cabin. Loose engine mounts can also affect performance by sapping the off-the-line performance.
With Perforamnce Engine Mounts like these, you can improve performance by reducing 'torque loss' to engine movement - more of the immediate torque is transmitted to the axles instead of being absorbed by engine movement.
If your MINI is 'maturing' and you decide to freshen up the suspension, don't forget the engine mounts.
The factory original hydraulic engine mounts tend to leak over time reducing it's effectiveness. If you find some oily fluid residue around the hydraulic mount, it's time for a replacement!
Vibra Technics products comes with a 6 month Limited Warranty from Vibra Technics.
Vibra-Technics
Vibra-Technics Automotive technical staff have collected over 30 years experience in the design of rubber components used in the Automotive Industry. This experience was gained working for a number of Multi-National Rubber Companies engaged in the design and manufacture of chassis components used by all the major Automobile Manufacturers.
Vibra-Technics products are manufacturer primarily from natural rubber compounds and occasionally from blends of synthetic and natural rubber to give particular properties for specific applications. Extensive experience and testing in all kinds of environmental conditions by Automobile Manufacturers has shown that only natural rubber compounds give optimum performance and durability (which is why it is still universally used today by every car manufacturer). Where the rubber needs to be attached to metal components, this is achieved by chemically bonding the rubber to the metal during the molding process, using the latest chemical adhesive systems.
Our rubber-to-metal bonded products are designed specifically for high performance applications where a direct replacement for the standard mount is required along with a much higher level of engine control to cope with higher engine outputs and higher road inputs caused by fast driving. The Fast Road mounts give significant improvements in ride and handling without adversely affecting vibration isolation. The competition mounts also eliminate clearance problems with strut braces and exhaust systems, body panels etc. and improve handling whist still giving vibration isolation at high engine speeds. Competition mounts are not recommended for road use.
