Ground to Mini Mania's exacting specifications by a major OEM camshaft supplier, this high performance camshaft increases horsepower and torque throughout the RPM range. Similar performance to the Schrick camshaft at a lower cost. The camshaft can be used with the stock or ported cylinder head and stock valve springs. A great way to improve performance without disassembling the motor – a difference you can feel!

2002-2006 R53 MINI Cooper S Hardtop
2005-2008 R52 MINI Cooper S Convertible

Intake: Duration 264, Lift 9.5mm, overlap 0.5, peak timing 114, open at 18, close at 66.

Exhaust: Duration 272, Lift 9.0mm, overlap 0.65, peak timing 114, open at 70, close at 22.

To calculate actual valve lift you have to multiply the actaul cam lift time the rocker ratios. The stock rockers ratios on the intake rockers is 1.65:1, the exhaust ratio is 1.43:1

For point of comparison the factory stock camshaft Intake Duration 250. Lift 8.4mm , Exhaust Duration 254, Lift 7.85mm

Professional installation is recommended.

Can this be installed on a stock engine for street use and will it need a tune?
The NME6045 High Performance Camshaft  can be installed in GEN1 Mini Cooper S and JCW models with a stock engine. This camshaft is very streetable with little if any change with the idle. You will notice more pull in the mid to upper rpm range with a small bump with the redline.

An ECU tune is not required, but it always helps to get more out of the cam.

You will need to clearance the spark plug tubes due to the taller lobes.
