Cooper and Cooper S uses the same Thermostat with gasket. Different housing for the Cooper verses the  Cooper S.

Thermostat is located on the end of the cylinder head - drivers side (US LHD).

Torque Thermostat housing bolts to 12Nm (8.9 ft-lbs).
