This Item has a $150.00 core charge.

This is the carb used on the later Minis 1275cc engines. A far superior design than the early HS style. The HIF uses an internal float, throttle shaft seals, and improved adjusting screws. This is a great upgrade from a twin set up and is easy to adjust and maintain and delivers high performance and reliability. Comes with a BDL needle, good for stock 1275 engines. For 1380's, we recommend changing the needle to a "BDK" (see NZX8010) Comes with all new seals, gaskets, needle & seats, and jet tube. All parts are inspected, ultrasonically cleaned, and polished. The air filter to carb elbow will not be inncluded unless you specify in the comment field you request one.

Can be used on Classic Mini, Sprite, Midget, and Morris Minor cars.

Question:
I have a question on the HIF44 Carb. Is the core charge on to of the listed price? I don't have one to trade-in.
Answer:
The price we list is an exchange price. We charge the additional core charge usually at the time of sale and some customers do return to us the core and get refunded. But if you do not have a core, we would add the core charge on top.
We would possibly do a core refund if you have a different carb or duel carbs , HS2 HS4 or HIF38

Question:
Hi.. I'm interested in buying a Hif44 carb, but I'm reading that it takes you time to finish and deliver... What's the approximate time? And - . What's the difference between the FZX 1280 and FZX 3006 carbs? I've seen both are Hif44, but don't know which one will fit my car.
Answer:
Hi,
I try to keep them in  stock and if we are out, I can rebuild one in a few days usually. I do all of the SU rebuilds for the company. As for the difference in the carbs, we only offer the FZX1280-REB,  HIF44. It is the same carb, but the later ones had different linages.  The 44 is in metric 44mm and the 6 is 6/8 or 3/4"

Hope that helps,

Question:
I have a 78 mgb with a zenith cd 175 carb. A competitor sells the hif44 as a direct replacement for this zenith. Would this carb that you sell work for me. I would assume that there would be specific needles required for my application. Would you know what needles would work? thanks
Answer:
Yes, our rebuilt carbs would work fine.  And since there is  no real application for the HIF44 on a MGB we would recommend that you start with one needle as a reference point and then try different ones to lean or richen the mixture. You might go with a BDL to start with and see how it does.  Oh, and while we do not stock the correct stock needle for your model (BGC - NZX8076LP1) it is something we can supply on special order.
