It is hard to describe the difficulty on something like this. If you work patiently and take your time, I wouldn't call it difficult...
These stripe use quality vinyl and should offer clean looks for many years but will eventually fade over time. The length of time depends on the climate... The stripe may look nice for 5+ year before fading in cloudy Seattle, but the Arizona desert may cause these stripes to start fading in 3 or so years.
Unfortunately, there are no instructions with the product but here is how it might read:
You will need:
a. A spray bottle filled with water and a few drops of dish detergent.
b. A plastic squeegee or similar (a credit card wrapped in thin cloth may work)
Procedure:
1. Clean the surface thoroughly. If you run your hand across the surface and you feel any 'bumps' (like sap dust), it needs to be removed or it will show up as bumps thru the vinyl.
2. Using painters tape or something similar, mark the centerline - you will use this as reference to in stall the stripes symmetrically. (measure half the distance between the washer nozzles, and half the width of the front grille or hood scoop.)
3. Perform a 'dry fit' with one stripe and position it on the hood without removing the backing.
The stripes will usually fit 'correctly' in only one position when you match the ends to the contour of the front and rear edge of the hood.
4. Mark the position of this stripe with more tape so you can repeat the position precisely.
5. Position the other stripe by matching the distances from the centerline, and mark the position with more tape.
6. Now, you should be able to remove the stripes be able to set them back on in precisely the same position.
7. Wash your hands to remove any grease or oils.
8. Carefully remove the backing while liberally spraying the backside with the solution. Try not to handle the backside.
9. Spray the surface liberally with the solution.
10. Carefully position the stripe as previously marked.
11. Use the squeegee from the center out to force out all the bubbles.
12. If you have a couple persistent and visible bubbles that wouldn't go away, you can use a pin or an xacto knife to puncture a small hole to allow the air to escape.
Some of the minuscule bubbles may go away as the solution dries.
13. Repeat with the other stripe.
Allow at least 24 hour before washing or driving in rain.

CUSTOMER FOLLOW UP QUESTION:
Thanks. How can I remove the original OEM stripes? Should I use a stripe expert?
MINI MANIA REPLY:
There are special tools for removing the original stripes. We do not consider this a DIY job - you'll want to have a body shop remove and install stripes
