EBC Premium Brake Pads come is several versions - select the best version to suit your driving style:
Greenstuff™
EBC Greenstuff is a high friction based pad compound designed to improve stopping power on sport sedans and prestige cars for on highway use. The Greenstuff range emits less dust than equivalent semi metallic pads and has been proven in tests to stop a vehicle 20 feet sooner than using stock pads. Pads are fully shimmed chamfered and slotted for silent braking and feature the EBC brake-in surface coating to accelerate pad bed in after install. Greenstuff pads are for spirited street driving, for heavier faster cars see EBC Redstuff or for track and race use see EBC Yellowstuff and new EBC Bluestuff.
- Improved stopping power up to 15% over OEM
- Ideal for Sport compacts and those looking for improved braking over OE
- Synthetic fiber material
- Excellent pedal feel from cold
- High temperature range offers improved fade resistance
Redstuff Ceramic
Low dust EBC Redstuff is a superb pad for fast street use and targets high HP imports, muscle cars and prestige European cars. EBC Redstuff ceramic pads reduce dust emitted by OEM pads by approx 80 percent. Redstuff pads also reduce rotor wear so that rotors and pads last longer whilst delivering great brake performance. For optimum lifetime in track use EBC still recommend drivers to upgrade to their Yellowstuff but if fast street is what you need, EBC Redstuff Ceramic is the pad to choose.
- Lowest dusting brake pads in EBC's range
- Full ceramic formula, no metal fibers
- Improves braking anywhere between 20-30% over OE
- Great cold bite and firm pedal feel through temp range
- Great for fast street and premium sedan
Yellowstuff Sport
EBC Yellowstuff is an aramid fibre based brake compound with a high brake effect from cold and is possibly one of the first ever compounds that can be used for street and track driving. These pads do require some warm-up but get even stronger under the heat of hard driving.
- Our flagship top selling high friction brake pad for improved braking – UK made and a very high-end pad
- Suitable for Fast streetcars, trucks and SUVs wherever a decent brake power upgrade is required.
- Super quiet smooth braking under all conditions, fully shimmed slotted and chamfered construction
- Excellent cold bite coupled with high-temperature fade resistance
- Progressive braking with unparalleled pedal feel
- Drastically reduced stopping distances compared to OE
- Brake-In™ coating for accelerated pad bed in period
- R90 approved thus legal for public highway use in European markets
- For track use, Bluestuff may be a better choice due to bedding in speed which is much shorter with Blue
- Made with Nucap NRS hooks on back plates to totally eliminate the chance of pad debond
See the EBC Street Pad - Bedding in Process article.
NOTE:
Brakes are a safety critical part of your vehicle and should be installed by a competent mechanic following vehicle manufacturers installation procedure. The surface of these brake pads is coated with a red coating known as BRAKE-IN. This coating helps your newly installed brake pads to 'seat' or bed-in quickly. However, pads should be used gently for the first 100 miles until optimum braking is observed. Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their disc (brake rotor).
Rotors should be replaced with new when installing new brake pads. Failure to do so can result in brake noise as well as reduced braking efficiency. Avoid contamination of pad surface with any forms of grease that you may use to lubricate caliper sliders.
Manufacturers Warranty applies.
The entire green range is approved to ECE R90 for highway use.
Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years, more often if you track your Mini.
For High Performance Brake Fluids, see the following:
- Ate Performance Brake Fluid - Very Good
- Motul Racing Brake Fluid - Better
- Castrol React SRF Brake Fluid - Best
For 'standard' replacement Brake Fluid, see Mini Cooper Brake Fluid Pentosin DOT4.
For non-JCW models, see G2NMB2022-P.
