Many cam profiles have been tried over the years but the famous old "649" grind is still considered the best overall! It's a 300 degree duration cam with a valve lift of .470 when used with high lift rockers (.4" with stock)! This profile works great in everything from 948 to 1275cc motors. Todays standards would call this a mild race for a 1275cc, but a super cam for a 948cc. This is "slot drive".
Timing: Intake Opens 43°BTDC, Closes 64°ATDC, Exhaust Opens 61°BBDC, Closes 40°ATDC. Lift with std ratio rockers is .323", cold clearance .016".
When used in Sprites, Midgets, and Morris Minors a slot drive oil pump is required.
