EBC REDSTUFF Front Brake Pads for your MINI WITH the JCW Sport Brake Upgrade Kit!

Fits the following models with the JCW Sport Brake Kit (Red Calipers in front):

2002-2006 R50 Cooper and R52 Cooper S Hatchback
2005-2008 R52 Cooper and Cooper S Convertibles

For matching Rear Pads, see NMB1113.

Redstuff Ceramic - 3000 Series - Performance Brake Pads For Highly Tuned Cars and Fast Street. Superstreet formula with significant dust reduction for Modified MINIs and fastest street driving.

This material is an Aramid fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles. Updated from the previous generation pre-ceramic compound, this material is light years ahead. It lasts longer, it brakes better and is quieter. Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their disc (brake rotor).

This is a truly impressive fast road pad for repeated heavy braking. It emits far less dust than semi-metallic pads and has been proven to stop a passenger car/sedan/sport compact/hot hatch 13 metres quicker than OEM pads from 100mph/160kph. Features EBC Brake-In surface coating which conditions rotor surface and accelerates pad bed-in. Nominal friction coefficient 0.5 with approx. 50% dust reduction compared to other pads.

Features:

* High Initial Brake Effect
* Strong Resistance To Fade Under Load
* Reduced Rotor Wear
* Low Dusting Of Wheels
* Shimmed; Chamfered; And Slotted
* Features EBC Brake-In Coating For Fast Break In
* Zero Noise And Extended Lifetime
* Accepts factory brake wear sensor

These pads are coated with 'BRAKE-IN SURFACE COATING'.
[ ] Effective immediately after installation.
[ ] Conditions rotor surface.
[ ] Prevents early life noise.
[ ] Helps pads bed-in fast.

These pads will produce some dust and at times, a slight squeal during the break-in period - the dusting will greatly diminish and the noise typically goes away after a few hundred miles.

For a slightly less aggressive pad, take a look at NMB1107 GREENSTUFF Pads or for track use, NMB1117 YELLOW Track/Street pads.

Brake Dust

Some BRAKE DUST is inevitable from every brake pad and it is impossible to totally eliminate dust otherwise brake vibration will occur. We never advertise ZERO DUST we only advertise LESS DUST and we appreciate that in some cases dust will be almost the same as original pads. However, please note that dust is always more severe in the first 1000 miles of driving especially if pads were fitted to partly worn rotors. Another condition which promotes significant dust is wrong pad compound choice. If you have a car with over 200bhp (horse power) or drive above what we might call a spirited street level, for example green pads would not be suitable and red ceramic, being a slightly harder pad, can handle these higher speeds and loads and gives off less dust … there may be cases of overload where the Green pads are carbonising in use and a higher spec pad (Red Ceramic) is needed. Yellow compounds are a fantastic brake, probably our best but they are equal in dust to Original parts and should not be chosen if a low dust pad is what you need. Our CLEANEST pads are RED CERAMIC for sedans.

For stock MINI factory replacement pads, see NMB1130.

Manufacturers Warranty applies.

NOTE:
Brakes are a safety critical part of your vehicle and should be installed by a competent mechanic following vehicle manufacturers installation procedure. The surface of these brake pads is coated with a red coating known as BRAKE-IN. This coating helps your newly installed brake pads to 'seat' or bed-in quickly. However, pads should be used gently for the first 100 miles until optimum braking is observed. Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their disc (brake rotor).

Rotors should be replaced with new when installing new brake pads. Failure to do so can result in brake noise as well as reduced braking efficiency. Avoid contamination of pad surface with any forms of grease that you may use to lubricate caliper sliders.

We recommend rotors be replaced or turned (where possible) when installing new pads. Installing new pads on used or worn rotors will affect braking efficiency. Follow manufacturers instructions for 'bedding in' new pads.

If your brake wear warning light is illumninated, see replacement sensors.

Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years, more often if you track your Mini.

For High Performance Brake Fluids, see the following:

For 'standard' replacement Brake Fluid, see Mini Cooper Brake Fluid Pentosin DOT4.
