Halogen headlights for 07/2004-2006 Hatchbacks and 07/2004-2008 Convertibles do not have headlight washers.

I have a 2006 MINI Cooper S and would like to jazz it up a little; its a little plain. And the headlights are oxidized and need changing. On YouTube it does not look that difficult, but want to make sure that I buy the right headlight assemblies for it. Can you tell me which ones will fit a 2006 MINI Cooper S?

There was a change over after 2004, so you would need the post 2004 models, some of the supercharged minis came with a built in sprayer that washes the headlights as well, so select the ones that match your current headlights. You can see where the washer comes out of your car in the chrome trim around the headlight itself.

I own a 2009 Cabrio-R57. I want to change the visual look of the headlamp to make it more modern, all clear/silver (no orange). I believe I might need to remove the LARGE ORANGE lens cover inside the headlamp assembly module (is this possible?), remove the existing bulb, and replace it with an orange LED bulb. Is that possible? If so, what parts would you recommend to achieve that objective?

Answer:

For the 2009 R57 Cooper S Convertible, the factory offered an amber or clear turn signal lens in the headlight modules for both halogen and xenon headlights.

There are aftermarket headlight bulb suppliers that can offer LED bulb replacements for standard halogen headlights.

If you have the Xenon headlights, the choices may be different.

Question:

I have a 2004 R50 with Xenon headlamps (with washers and auto leveling). The fog lights are separate. I'd like to change the headlamps to Halogen units. It seems there are Halogen units available on your site with washers; would it be possible to simply plug and play with these or is there going to be an issue with (i) the fact the fog lights are separate or (ii) the pin connector on the back of the unit? I don't know whether the pin connector is different with xenon units what with the addition of the ballast etc.

Answer:

Although the headlights modules may be fairly easy to swap between xenons and halogens, the connections, harness, electrical requirements and programming are entirely different. It's not something we have tried, but we suspect it is quite involved.
