What are OEM Parts?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts for your MINI Cooper are just that, original parts and equipment manufactured for your MINI.
Our original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts are either supplied directly by BMW/MINI or are manufactured by an outside company that BMW/MINI has designated as an authorized manufacturer. The items in this category are authentic factory parts that were either utilized by BMW/MINI during manufacture or were supplied by the Original Manufacturer to BMW/MINI for use in their vehicles. These are not aftermarket replacement parts.

(Just in case you didn't know - Original Equipment Suppliers (OES) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) are essentially the same thing. They both refer to parts built by an outside company that initially made the parts for the BMW/MINI.   

Genuine parts, sometimes referred to as OE (Original Equipment ) parts, are parts that are acquired directly from a BMW/MINI dealer and is an component that was installed in your MINI when it first rolled off the assembly line.  All dealer-only parts are Genuine parts.

And Mini Mania, we use the four terms, OEM, OES, Genuine and OE interchangeably.  So, whenever you see the "Genuine MINI part" seal of approval, you can rest assured, you're getting the most accurate match possible to the part that came with your MINI.  Sometimes, even better.  For more details read our article, "What's My Part".)

Finding the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part or accessory that is specially designed to fit your MINI is simple - Simply select your vehicle type from the "SHOP BY CAR" tab at the top of this page, and then use the search box to look for your preferred product that contains the word OEM in the title.
