Tired of fiddling with SUs? The Weber 32/36 downdraft carb makes an excellent upgrade! This progressive two-barrel carburettor gives you the best of both worlds-power and economy. While cruising, only the 32mm barrel is operating, when you open the throttle the 36mm secondary kicks in! It comes jetted for a mild 948  but, as with any Weber, a wide selection of jets is available. Economy & performance..when have you ever heard these two words associated with WEBER? The DGV is a down-draft, progressive linkage carb that provides both bottom and top end performance. The two barrels are different sizes for maximum economy when you don't have your foot into it and max performance when you want it! The down-draft feature allows for a good manifold to be fitted to the Mini with a proper air filter. Available as P4-004 for use with a standard exghaust manifold or P4-004/LCB for use with the Long Center Branch exhaust. Either kit comes complete with manifold, Weber carb, linkage and air filter.

Last time we chose a manifold based on flow volumes, and a carbie based on personal choice, but which combination is best on this engine?  With the engine finished, it is time to look at a variety of carburettors, inlet manifolds and exhaust extractors, to fnd the most suitable combination. There are a lot of fgures, but they are necessary, so bear with me.

One of the common problems where sidedraft carbs are involved is the choice of carb size in the first place and choke size in the second. The trick with carb sizing and choke selection is basically one of choosing a size which provides the engine with the airflow it needs without going over the top.
