Do all Midget gearboxes not have synchromesh on first gear? If later ones do, did it commence with the Mark three?
Answer:
None of the 4-speed gearboxes have a synchro on first until the 1500 Midget starting in 1974. That car had a driveline from the Spitfire and is completely different from the previous cars.
