Question:
I need a antenna base gasket for my 2013 Cooper S. It does not have navigation, it does have bluetooth. Do I have to order the whole base just to get the rubber gasket? I see you have one that has this, but do I need to order the antenna base holder also? The one currently on my car looks like the one with the raised rib, not the rounded one.
Answer:
All of the gen2 antenna bases has the rubber gasket molded to the base. MINI does not offer the gasket separately, so yes - you need to order the entire base just to get the gasket....
You should be able to re-use the existing bracket / holder.
You 'can' use the less expensive standard base if you currently don't use and don't plan to use the MINI navigation or satellite radio options. The only difference will be some extra cable that don't get connected, and the footprint is slightly smaller.
MINI frequently installed the satellite / nav base on car without these options and called it 'satellite prep' so the feature can be added at a later date without having to replace the base.

Question:
Good morning. We need to replace our broken antenna base on our recently purchased 2009 mini cooper 2dr hatchback base model. It appears to have the GPS style base installed even though the car has no GPS NAV Sat bluetooth options or controls of any kind. Do we have to use the GPS base or can we use the much less expensive standard base for AM/FM only?
Answer:

Your MINI was probably built with the ‘satellite / navigation prep' option where the car was prepped so the satellite or navigation options can be added at a future date.

To answer your question, yes you can use the standard antenna base. If you do, there will be a few cables that will remain unconnected and the footprint of the base will be slightly smaller than the  satellite / navigation base.  You can re-use the same installation hardware so you should be all set.

Hope that helps

Question:
I have a 2009 New MINI Cooper S hatchback and my antenna base broke (car wash) all the bases I see on the internet have 3 wires coming out of the base mine only has 2 wires. What base do I order and what would be the price also I think I want a 2" stubby antenna or whatever you recommend?
Answer:

There are two bases - one which is standard, and one for MINIs factory equipped with certain features (whether they are active or not)

Because your car has the following features:

S0693 Preparation for a satellite tuner
S0694 Preparation for CD changer
S06FC Radio MINI Boost CD

it requires the Nav/Sat base - part number G2NMX7614

a stubby antenna is available as part number G2NMA7502 that is compatible with all MINIs
