Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years, more often if you track your Mini.
For High Performance Brake Fluids, see the following:
- Ate Performance Brake Fluid - Very Good
- Motul Racing Brake Fluid - Better
- Torque Racing Brake Fluid - Best
For 'standard' replacement Brake Fluid, see Mini Cooper Brake Fluid Pentosin DOT4.
Hello, the JCW big brake kit only came in red - I don't think it has "BMW" recess cast into the caliper. A sure what to tell would be to remove or inspect the brake pad and compare it visually - the standard S brakes NMB1110 have a "hook" shape on the ends, while the JCW Big Brake Kit pads NMB1130 - just have tabs where the slider shims are.
FOLLOW UP QUESTION: I am guessing that the early dealer JCW kits might not have included the brake upgrade?
Or maybe someone changed back to BMW mini calipers?
FOLLOW UP ANSWER: the original Cooper S Calipers are like THESE HERE. So the correct brake pads are NMB1110 for your application.
