Any search for the ideal 2-barrel, progressive down-draft carburetor would surely end with the DGV Series. wide adaptability, easy installation, low initial cost, trouble-free maintenance, excellent drivability, increased fuel economy and improved performance. Designed for engines displacing 1200cc-2300cc, the DGV Series carbs feature diaphragm type accelerator pump circuits and models with manual, water or electric choke actuation. The DGV also has a power valve circuit to facilitate low vacuum running conditions. Greater improvements in throttle response at a slight penalty in fuel economy can be achieved by using the 38 DGAS synchronous opening model. This is a high performance alternative to most any DGV applications.

Question:
Will this carb fit my 998cc 1964 Cooper Engine?
Answer:
Thanks for checking, if your Mini currently has twin SU carb and thus the intake manifold is NOT connected to the exhaust manifold, this is a great upgrade.

Question:
I have a 1978 Mini Clubman 1275gt and I'm planning to do a small project starting by changing my original carb. To this Weber one. My question is should I buy the full kit or only the carb. And does it fit directly on my car or I should do more adjustments?
Answer:
This is a very nice Weber upgrade for your Mini for sure. It is a direct bolt-on kit if you buy the complete kit, If you buy just the Carb only you will then have to find an intake manifold for it and then cut and weld it to fit your Mini.  Our kit comes complete with the special custom manifold needed to make this an easy-to-install set-up.

Question:
What is the actual difference between the 948 kit and the 1275 kit?
Answer:
The only difference is the jets that come installed in the carb. Although there are a wide array of jets available if you wanted to tune it to suite your engine/driving.
The true benefit of the weber series is that it is quite tunable for many purposes. Of course, you could get it to run right out of the box but that's not it's purpose. Reliability and compatibility wise, the SU carburetors are best suited - we suggest the HIF carbs for the 998s as they were the latest design. Webers are great for racing.

Last time we chose a manifold based on flow volumes, and a carbie based on personal choice, but which combination is best on this engine?  With the engine finished, it is time to look at a variety of carburettors, inlet manifolds and exhaust extractors, to fnd the most suitable combination. There are a lot of fgures, but they are necessary, so bear with me.

One of the common problems where sidedraft carbs are involved is the choice of carb size in the first place and choke size in the second. The trick with carb sizing and choke selection is basically one of choosing a size which provides the engine with the airflow it needs without going over the top.
