Oil Catch Can NM N18 Aluminum | MINI Cooper Gen2 2011+
NM Engineering Catch Tank is machined from billet 6061 aluminum alloy and anodized for stealth and added surface durability. The NM tank catches the oil and moisture in the blow-by gas that can cause carbon and sludge build-up in the turbo, intake system and the engine. Every piece of the kit can be disassembled for thorough cleaning and servicing.
Fits the following models with the N18 Turbocharged engine:
- 2011-2013 R56 Cooper S Hatchback
- 2011-2014 R55 Cooper S Clubman
- 2011-2015 R57 Cooper S Convertible
- 2011-2015 R58 Cooper S Coupe
- 2011-2015 R59 Cooper S Roadster
Model years for the JCW is different from the list above. For JCW models, order the product to match the engine type.
The NM Engineering Catch Tank kit also features custom tooled silicone hoses with Fluorosilicone internal lining developed specifically for petroleum base application. The lack of adapters on this kit ensures smooth, unrestricted, and completely sealed vapor delivery through out the system.
- Not-So-Fun Fact:
- MINI dealer service charges 5-6 hours ($600-700) to clean your intake port from carbon build-up caused by the oil/moisture circulating back into the internal. This procedure is 'recommended' around 60-70,000 miles, after your warranty expires.
Some states (like California) have ever tightening requirements for emissions testing and inspections. Always check your local regulations on compliance for street use.

According to NM, there are 3 possible reasons for the leak
1. repeated on/off of the hose from the valve cover wears the connector over time, causing it to leak.
2. new vs. old valve cover production tolerance
3. OEM vs. aftermarket valve cover tolerance differences
"To know whether the clip is seating properly is simple, do a tug test. The clip should sit flush inside the channel and the billet fitting will not come off without removing or spreading the clip first. Also inspect the o-ring, make sure it is not damaged. "
