The no. 2-3 bores are offset to maximize the space in between them but I do not have those numbers handy.

Every bore 0.015" outwards from center and 0.010" towards the cam side of the block

I'm afraid we can't give much advice here as we don't rebuild the 1098's. The parts available for that engine are a bit limited for cost-effective performance vs. the 1275. That being said, boring the engine and improving flow in the head and adding larger valves will always increase the performance of any engine. Yes, but it's a MUST that the block not be more than +.020 to start with (standard is better) since 1380's are offset bored to leave enough material between the two middle cylinders (2-3).

You'd need a 1275 engine to start with. Preferably one that hasn't been bored to more than .020" first. The small-bore engines can't go that large.
