Classic Mini 75 Competition Brake Rotors And Kevlar Pads A common complaint of standard issue Mini Cooper S brake rotors is that they wear too fast. The brake rotor wear is caused by grit getting caught under the brake pads, and is amplified by the fact that the brake rotors are made of too-soft material. These heavy duty, competition brake rotors are of a higher grade steel, but more importantly these competition brake rotors feature grooves machined into them on both sides that serve to clean the brake pads and brake rotors, further increasing their life expectancy.
